Chapter Seven

AFTER LUNCH, GLORY and Phoenix dragged the women to a giant store called TOYS.

“I thought you went to a home goods store,” Ashlynn said.

“We did,” Phoenix said. “But then, on our way to meet you guys, we saw this store. We were already running late, so we decided we’d have to come back.”

“I don’t think this is a typical toy store,” Cassie said.

“No kidding,” Ashlynn said, staring up at the giant sign that stretched across the entrance to the store. “Is that what I think it is?”

“Huh.” Glory snickered. “Didn’t notice that the first time around.”

“Seriously?” Cassie asked. “How on earth could you possibly have missed the giant—”

“Phallic,” Ashlynn suggested when Cassie faltered.

“Right. How could you miss the enormous phallic ‘T,’ Glory?”

Glory laughed. “I have no idea.”

Ashlynn was rather stunned no one on earth had ever thought to turn a ‘T’ into a giant dick. After all, it kind of worked. She tilted her head and stared some more. “It’s really—”

“Big,” Lara suggested.

“And is it my imagination, or is it kind of —” Megan hesitated, then said in unison with her sisters, “hairy?”

“Well, the store is owned by trolls,” Lily said. “I imagine it’s maybe not so big . . . or hairy to them.”

At that, the women all laughed, hooked arms and headed into the mall’s only sex store.

“Whoever heard of putting a sex store in a mall?” Phoenix whispered to Ashlynn.

Ashlynn shook her head. “No human on earth, that’s for sure.”

“Trolls,” Mia and Lily said together, making the women giggle some more.

The next hour was pretty hilarious. The store was divided into sections according to species. The troll section was rather terrifying. Ashlynn and Phoenix fled the area as quickly as possible while Glory and Cassie examined every single item on every shelf, practically falling over themselves in laughter.

The witches were fascinated by the fairy section. “I wish I could fly,” Jessica said, staring at a harness clearly meant to accommodate wings.

Megan and Lara both giggled.

“We’re terrible,” Ashlynn confided to Phoenix.

“I know,” Phoenix said. “Suddenly we’ve all rediscovered the middle schooler inside.”

Ashlynn laughed.

Though Ashlynn and Cassie insisted they needed nothing from the store, the other women convinced them to buy some sexy lingerie. Ashlynn raised an eyebrow at some of the women’s definition of sexy, but still she went with it. After all, it wouldn’t do to walk out of an inter-realm sex toy shop without something to show for it.

“Phoenix! I cannot believe you came here without us. Without even an invitation, for heaven’s sake.”

Ashlynn looked up to see Travis storming toward them, a thunderous look on his face, and she couldn’t help but snicker. Because he wasn’t alone. The men had officially crashed their mates’ shopping excursion.

“What are you doing here?” Glory snapped, stepping between Travis and his mate. “And who’s watching the bar?”

Travis rolled his eyes, lifted his sister in a rather amazing feat of strength, turned and handed her off to Max.

He then charged toward Phoenix, swept her into his arms and kissed
