“I’m here for a Kiana Bullock, did she get a bail yet?” my father asked the police officer sitting behind the Plexiglas at the Plainfield Police station. People were looking at me like I was crazy and I knew I looked it. I had a bloody nose, two busted lips, and one of my eyes was swollen shut.

I wasn’t expecting Tasha and her crew to roll up on me, but I was happy my mother was there to help me. Tasha weighed about 350 pounds and her friends didn’t weigh much less than that, but I still gave it to her big ass. My mom pistol whipped the bitch and knocked her out, which is why she got arrested.

She was defending me and I hoped they let her out so I could thank her and apologize for acting like a bitch to her. Even though we didn’t get along and she treated me like shit, I loved her. After all, she was my mother, whether good or bad.

“She won’t see a judge for another hour or two come back then.” I sucked my teeth loudly and the cop looked over at me. “Do you need to press charges on someone honey? Did he do this to you?” he said a mocking tone.

“She’s my daughter, I would never put my hands on her like that, fuck outta here, pig.” The officer laughed in his face and told us to come back in a few hours, but my head was pounding and I didn’t think I could make it back.

I went home, showered, and called Tune to cuss his ass out.

“I told your ass if you wanted to keep fucking me that you had to keep your fat ass baby mother in check, but you didn’t and now she’s in the hospital. The next time she’ll be in the city morgue motherfucker, lose my number.” After I hung on him, I popped two Percocet’s and drifted off to sleep.
