I just got to the hospital and I’m standing outside Shay’s eavesdropping. They laughing and reminiscing about old times and this the first time I’ve realize that they have history. She even professing her love for him. It hurt to hear her say that. It’s time to put on my big girl drawers, and be there for my man. I walk in with a strut that demands that all the attention is on me.

“Hey Ki.”

“Hey baby. Hey Shay. Where’s that baby?”

“They took him to the nursery. His temperature was high so he had to get looked at. How was the dinner?” Mi says.

“A topic for later.”

“Dats wats up. I need a good laugh.”

“So, Shay, how are you feeling?”

“Like hell ran right through me.”

“I know the feeling.”

“I’m trying to figure out how you did it four times. Shit one is enough for me.”

No dis bitch didn’t. I’m not going to snap though.

“We’ll you know what they say, only the strong will survive. God knows what he’s doing.”

“But does it shrink back to original size or does it stay loose because it’s worn out?”

“Ask Miguel. I’m quite sure no loose pussy chick wouldn’t be tatted on his neck with two engagement rings, a couple of businesses, houses, and a brand new truck.”

“Just saying Miguel. Can she give you another seed? But you know she can- she breeds like a rabbit.”

“Girl sit down with your side chick spot having ass. Clearly you got a problem with me. Miguel, I’m not gonna stand here and let dis cheap trick take shots at me.”

“Oops- my bad.” Shay says.

“So, I see what our life would be like once we get married. Mi, can I see our son so we can go?”

“Yeah , give me the card Shay.”

“Dis ain’t dat. Miguel. She won’t be around my son.”

“You mean our son!” Mi says.

“I just pushed him out!’

“He was in me first.”

“Okay, here. But enjoy your window view.”

We walk to the nursey in silence. I’m shocked. I’ve never done anything to this chick. I guess her love for him is stronger than I thought.

“Ki, baby I’m sorry.”

“It’s not your fault.”

“Imma get this shit straight.”

He places the card up to the window. The nurse searches for the bay. She pushes his bed up to the window. Miguel is written all over his face. He smiles, but when he opens up his eyes- both of our mouths drop.

“Baby, I got to stay with my kids.”

“But you just proposed.”

“Okay, then you should be happy.”

“Come on, Jo. I need you.”

No, this bitch didn’t. She sounds desperate as fuck. Did she know the art of “playing hard to get.” Fuck she expects me to respect her if she doing this bullshit. I’m not finna entertain dis silly ass hoe.

“Look the only way I can see my kids is at my mama’s house. And you got yourself to blame for that. Damn, Kaylah make me chase you. If I miss you, I’ll come running home with my dick out in my hand soon as I get in the door.
