The quality of the population can be affected by settlement size. Small towns can be romanticized as wonderful places devoid of evil (no crimes are supposedly committed) but can also be prone to everyone knowing everyone else’s business and gossiping. A large city offers the good and bad, from too many people and their problems and trash, to greater numbers of skilled laborers and higher quality of materials and goods. We might want a wholesome settlement in one place and an obnoxious one in another for variety, so don’t be afraid to experiment with what’s going on in a place.
