Chapter 5

"Bari! Let her go! Come on, Bari, that's enough! Bari!" I heard the voices, but they seemed to be coming from far, far away. My head began to clear, and the black I was seeing started to fade. The girl that was earlier wearing white was now wearing white with big red splotches to accent her outfit.

Six was pulling Gucci off the girl's friend, the one with the hungry shoe. "Milkshake, let the bitch go," Seven said in my ear. He grabbed me around my waist and lifted me off the girl. I was furious. "Calm down, baby," he said.

"Let me go, Seven," I ordered. He refused. "I don't even want you touching me! Now, let me go!"

“I ain't letting you go so you can hit me again!" he exclaimed. Again?

"Go make sure your chicken-head girlfriend is all right, while I round up the few friends you have that I haven't fucked!" I yelled sarcastically.

"Okay. You made your point," he said quietly. "And don't say that shit again."

"Shut the hell up, Seven. Like I said before, it's always gonna be the same old shit; every friend you have is gonna be a potential fuck for me. It's never gonna change. But why should I expect it to if you could be suspicious of me trying to fuck a fourteen year old kid!" I yelled, and somebody gasped.

"I'm sorry, baby. You know I didn't mean that," he said.

"You never do, Seven. You never mean it. But check this shit out, the next time you say it, I'm gonna to make it happen," I informed him.

"Don't get fucked up," he threatened.

"No, don't get me fucked up, Seven," I advised him. "And who is that alley-cat you were talking to? We doing it like that now? You just try to get at bottom feeding-ass bitches in my face now, but you wanna trip on me, and what you think I'm doing?"

"Bari, calm down. Come on, baby, I wasn't gettin' at that bitch. Her brother works for me," he explained.

"I don't give a damn if you employ the whole damn family!" I yelled. "You know what, Seven? I don’t have time for this. You can do whatever it is you want to do. I'm through. And apologize to your girl for me too. She didn't have that coming. It ain't her fault that you ain't shit," I smiled. "And since this really has no meaning for us, maybe you should see if the bitch wants it," I said, pulling the engagement ring from my finger.

"Bari, I swear to God, if you take that mutha-fucka off, nobody will be able to recognize your ass for months," he informed me. He snatched my hand before I could get the ring off and pushed it back down on my finger. I let out an involuntary yelp of pain. "You hit me before you jumped on that bitch, and I gave you a pass 'cause I knew you were mad. But now, I don't give a fuck how mad you are, you 'bout to get fucked up, Bari.
