CHAPTER 9

“You can count on it, missy.” Cal finally managed to remove her last article of clothing and tossed it over a chair. He paused for a moment to let his eyes feast on his sweet bride’s body. Smooth and creamy skin, her golden hair falling from the pins and hanging loose around her shoulders. His gaze moved lower to her breasts.

Oh good lord. Her breasts. They were perfect globes that fit in the palms of his hands and responded to the nip of his teeth. As he rested his eyes upon them the pink tips hardened. His thumbs itched to brush over them, to hear his wife’s pleasure noises as he teased their sensitive peaks.

The pace of her breathing sped up as evidenced by the rapid rise and fall of her chest. He glanced into her eyes and where he had seen embarrassment and discomfort just a few days ago, he now saw eager anticipation, perhaps even a bit of pride in the body she allowed him to master.

His fingertip made a lazy line down between her breasts and lower to her belly button, then lower still to the lips of her cunny. He dipped his finger there. “Mmm. Tassie, you’re wet for me. Does being restrained to the bed excite you?”

He brought his eyes up to meet hers and in a flash her expression changed to one of sheer naughtiness. The corner of her mouth turned up and she said, “Well, I don’t seem to be attached to the bed right now, do I, sheriff?”

Catching him completely by surprise, she rushed past him and out into the hallway with a squeal of glee.

Cal recovered quickly and set out after her. She’d run into the bedroom across the hall and shut the door. She was leaning against it and giggling, but she was no match for him, particularly when he was determined to take his pleasure. With a good shove against the door he had her trapped. She backed against the wall, her face flushed with excitement and her hair wild. His blood heated at the sight of her.

“Well, what are you going to do now? Looks like I’ve got you trapped, naughty girl.”

“Does that mean you’re going to punish me, sheriff? I have been naughty.” She gave him her best innocent-eyed look.

“Oh darlin’, you have no idea.” He snapped the cuff back on her wrist then tossed her over his shoulder, landing some swats on her upturned backside as he returned them to their bedroom.

He swiveled his face and kissed her bare thigh that rested on his shoulder. With a deep inhale he took in the musky scent of her arousal. It seemed his little bride enjoyed a bit of a tussle. Hm. He’d put that knowledge to good use.

He set her down and gave her several more swats on her bottom. She kicked her legs and squealed, “Oh, sheriff, please stop. I promise to be good.”

Who knew his little bride had such a propensity for play acting? She seemed to jump right into her role like a trained performer.
