Nine

Foxy turned into the parking garage of Heads N’ Tails at 5:28. She ended up oversleeping and had to rush through her shower just to get here on time. She pulled into her parking spot and looked to see if she could see Menot’s truck. Her view was obscured mostly by a grey utility van. Grabbing her phone off the passenger seat, she got out. As she grabbed her bag from the back seat, she noticed Menot coming around the back of the car.

“Boo.” He pounded on the trunk of her car.

“Nice try.” She laughed. “I saw you coming.” She spoiled his fun.

“I figured you did,” he came up behind her. “Want me to take your bag?”

“Sure.” She handed him the bag.

She closed her car door and turned to him. He was too close for her not to touch. She pushed him up against her car and pressed her lips against his. He wrapped his arm around her, kissing her back. All too soon, he pulled back from the kiss.

“Someone is going to see us here,” he told her and kissed her cheek.

“Then we should take cover.” She laughed and took his hand, pulling him toward the elevator.

As they got in the elevator, she heard a vehicle door slam. The elevator door closed before she could see who may have seen them. Turning to Menot, she pulled her bag off his shoulder and dropped it onto the floor.

“You’re going to get us caught,” Menot said taking her into his arms.

“As long as you do your job, Tony won’t have a problem with it,” she assured him. “But right now, is my time until the elevator doors open.”

He pressed her up against the wall and his lips came down on hers. The passion behind his kiss was unlike anything she had ever felt before. She loved kissing him. It set her body on fire all the way to her toes. The soft ding of the elevator alerted them that the doors were about to open. Menot backed up and picked up her bag. He handed it to her just as the doors slid open.

“You’re just in time,” Tony greeted them from the hallway. “Tobias brought some hot wings in for everyone. Better get them while they’re still hot.”

“I forgot it’s Friday. Tobias brings something down from the restaurant on Fridays,” she told Menot as they stepped off the elevator. “I was kind of hoping he would bring ribs this week.”

“He was going to but Kade’s pack wiped him out of ribs,” Tony informed her as he got on the elevator. He watched them both until the elevator doors slid closed. Menot let out a relieved sigh.

“He doesn’t suspect anything,” she told him. “It will be okay.” She laughed as the made their way down the short hall to the club’s double doors.

“If you say so.” Menot opened the door and held it for her.

“I do, now relax. Wings are at the bar. I have to put my stuff down and I’ll be right out.
