Flying Officer Viv Bridges DFC and Flight Sergeant Don ‘Spider’Webb DFM of 239 Squadron who on 10/11 May 1944 destroyed Bf 110 Wk. Nr 740179 3C+F1 of I/NJG4 piloted by Oberleutnant Heinrich Schulenberg near Ellezelles, Belgium. Two nights later they shot down Ju 88C-6 Wk Nr 750922 of V/NJG3, flown by Unteroffizier Josef Polzer at Hoogcruts near Maastricht. On 31 May/1 June Bridges and Webb scored their third kill (a Bf 110) followed on 7/8 July by another Bf 110 near Charleroi for their fourth, and last, victory of the war. (Don Webb Collection)
