7.4 Handover Analysis of mINCARNATE

In the handover experiment, UEs follow Random WayPoint (RWP) mobility model and initially all the SeNBs and APs are deployed using PPP. Handovers are counted based on the number of intersections of boundaries during the trajectory of UE movement. The term, trajectory exponent ‘’ is used as unity for simplicity.

The number of handovers in native LWA and proposed mINCARNATE are compared w.r.t. the simulation time as depicted in Fig. 8. Mean number of handovers of LTE in both the cases remain almost same. However, in mINCARNATE scheme, the number of handovers of Wi-Fi are reduced when the velocity of the users is low. In case of very high velocity, mINCARNATE leads to increase in the number of handovers to serve the UEs better.
