The Discipleship Process

What does it look like, in practical terms, to raise children to become young men? Do you have a discipleship framework within which you will know when you are strong, the Word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the evil one? In the discipleship process, we suggest there are three focus areas:

1. Knowing God—stirring a passion for your identity in Christ, intimacy with God, and integrity in life

2. Loving people—stirring a passion for compassion toward others, discovering your calling and how to invest your resources

3. Impacting your world—stirring a passion for the evident presence of Christ in your neighborhood, your community, your city, and the nations of the world

Discipleship in essence is a journey of discovery. God starts His work in you at salvation, and you discover the privilege of knowing Him. This is discovering what God is doing in and for you. As you grow, you come to discover that God wants to work not only in you but also through you. The love of Christ will start touching people’s lives through you. This leads to the realization that God is on a mission here on Earth and we have the privilege of sharing in His agenda. Then you discover that living out your purpose and calling will affect the world, allowing His kingdom to come.

This is how believers enter their destinies and become city changers who step out to transform Babylon.
