Chapter 16

“Girl, this is nice! Lando doing it big I see. Hmmm, where his fine ass at?”

“They over there, you don’t see ‘em?”

“Oh yeah, I see ‘em. Look at your man though. As soon as he saw it was you, his face lit up like a damn Christmas tree. You two are starting to get on my last damn nerve, I swear,” Mia joked.

“Girllll, love will do that to you. Look at my baby. Damn...every time I see him it’s like the first time all over again,” Kassidy said as she smiled and kept her eyes on Chase.

“Ughhh...enough already! Come introduce me,” Mia said as she pulled Kassidy by the arm and walked her over to Chase, Lando, and the crew.

“Hey ma, you came,” Chase said as he stood up and hugged Kassidy.

“Yeah, Mia stopped over and I thought it would be a good idea to take a study break for a minute, and come chill with my baby and the fellas.”

“Oh, so Mia can get you out but your man can’t?” Chased teased as he hugged her and placed a soft kiss onto her lips.

“Ahhh...you know it ain’t even like that babe. It’s just...”

Before she could finish her sentence. Mia interrupted her by clearing her throat as a signal for Kassidy to reintroduce her to Lando, who sat there eyeing Mia’s ass as if it was wild animal kingdom and her ass was the prey.

“Heyyyyyy Chase,” Mia playfully cooed.

“What’s good ma?” Chase said as he thought for a minute that if it had not been for Mia bringing Kassidy to the park that day, they probably wouldn’t be a couple. “Good seeing you again. It’s been a minute.”

“Wayyy too long. I guess after you and my girl hooked up, there was no need for me...”

Kassidy cleared her throat. “Lando...Lando...um...this is Mia. You know Miaaaa...” she said as she smiled, eyes widened; Lando gave her an easy smile in return.

“No doubt, of course, Mia. What’s up love?” Lando said as he stood up and walked over to Mia, Chase, and Kassidy, and extended his hand out to her.

“You got it daddi. What’s up with you?” Mia asked as she smiled.

“You love. I’ve been trying to see what’s up with you but I’m glad you came through tonight.”

“Fa sho. I’m glad I came too,” Mia smiled.

“Mia, come with me to the restroom for a second.”

“Right nowwww?” Mia mumbled through her teeth as she steadily smiled at Lando, calculating a ballpark figure of his money in her head as she estimated what it must cost to open a sports bar like the one they stood in; it had wall to wall high-definition flat screens and furnishings that looked like they belonged in an upscale sports lounge. Not to mention, he was Chase’s right hand man.

“Yes chiiiiiiick – right now,” Kassidy teased through her tight lips. “Bae, going to powder my nose, I’ll be right back,” she told Chase.

“Aight, I’ll be here beautiful.”

Kassidy gave him a peck on his lips and grabbed Mia’s hand, then walked towards the restroom.
