MIXIE

“You look hella cute Leah!” I squealed with excitement as she stood beside me as she stared at her reflection in the bathroom mirror.

“Are you sure?” she asked as she glanced at me. “It’s cute, but it’s not my style, Mixie.” She wore a teal short skirt, a matching short sleeveless top, matching love gloves that came past her elbow, and long teal boots that came up to her knees. She was putting on the short jacket that had hung low on both sides and curved inwards.

“Let’s go,” I smiled as I headed for the door. I pulled it open and was surprised to find Chassin leaning up against the wall on the opposite side of the hallway. His arms were crossed, and his head was bent down so I couldn’t see his eyes. “Is everything okay?” I asked as I walked cautiously towards him.

“Just wanted to let you know everything is running smoothly on our end,” he spoke as he lifted his head. He looked tired. “I wanted to speak to you in private.”

“Thank you for the outfit, Mr. End,” Leah spoke as she exited the bathroom and stood beside me. “It’s fabulous.” Just then, the bathroom door to the men’s restroom opened and Nazzy stepped out. He wore an exact matching outfit as Chassin. Only he was in fire red.

“Wow, Nazzy,” Leah spoke as she took her boyfriend in with her eyes. “You look amazing!”

“Thanks Chassin,” Nazzy nodded a curt thank you. “I feel like a million bucks wearing this outfit.”

“Both of you are welcome,” Chassin spoke as he pushed himself off the wall. “You can go to the make-up artist Leah,” he paused. “And you head to the salon Nazzy, they are waiting on you.”

“Oh?” they said in unison. “We’ll catch up with you guys later.” I watched as they both trotted up the hallway and turned right. I heard their boots echo off the silent walls as they walked away from us.

“So, what’s up?” I asked as we started walking up the hallway. “I can tell something is bothering you.”

“I just had Max take full control of the COC’s systems,” he spoke in a hushed voice as we walked past the receptionist area. “But” he sighed heavily as we entered his office. I closed the door behind me and turned on the lights. “They are trying to regain control over me using their MK Ultra garbage.”

“I thought my mother’s shot was helping you?” I asked with deep concern on my face.

“Mix!” Max came bursting into the room and tossed me a white bottle, missing a label on it. It rattled in my hands as I caught it. “Princess Lokima brought it,” he was out of breath. “Have Chassin take two of those pills quickly.”

“Don’t have to tell me twice,” Chassin spoke as he twisted the lid off. He tilted the bottle and two blue gel pills fell into his palm. “Grab me a water, babe.” He pointed his index finger towards a black mini fridge beside his desk.
