Chapter 13
Saint
Having people in my spot wasn’t something I was chill with, but seeing London and reading her body language had me doing things differently. After taking care of business with Guerilla’s crew, Goodman had become tense with worry about what was going to happen between us. Marvin being the catalyst of it pissed me off. Blanket had made it his main rule to keep all gang war minimal as a means to keep the people of Goodman safe from being collateral damage. Now, that shit was crossed out.
It was all or nothing and we had our zones to protect in the community, along with the people who lived in them. With that in my mind, it led me to Dee Dee’s, where I was really checking up on the neighborhood and shit talking on her porch. I was still working, trying to do Blanket’s business while making sure our crew at our various zone houses knew to stay on guard, when I saw London mean mugging me.
Honestly, the shit was comical. I really did mean to call her, but shit, the old saying goes you want what don’t want you. London wasn’t reciprocating the type of vibe I was giving her at first, so I decided to be slightly chill on her. When she saw me on the porch, the look in her doe eyes gave me nothing but money and now, watching her walk away, I pretty much felt like I could get her.
I low-key admired how nice her hips rocked as she stopped to speak with her girls. I then slid my hands in my pockets and noticed my twin by my side. He was geeked up about this mini-party in my crib and all I could do was shake my head.
“Note, I’m only doing this for one thing,” I said to him while still watching London.
Sin knew that my place was my sanctuary. I never invited anyone but family to my crib.
“Pussy,” Sin said with no type of respect our mother drummed in his skull as a kid.
“Basically,” I said back with an off-handed chuckle. Shit, I had none of that respect in me right now either.
“Permanent or one time?” Sin asked.
“Not even sure, twin. But I am curious to turn the Roanoke in her out, feel me? Since she’s showing she’s bad enough to be in our social mix here,” I said, chuckling with my twin.
I never ever was interested in the type of female who came from the Ro side, I repeat, but London felt different. I guessed it was because a small part of me wanted to run into her father again, look him in the eyes and let him know I had his prize; another part was something else I wasn’t sure of and pretty much wasn’t trying to discover. I was young, and I wanted to celebrate the success of getting our product, money, and fresh information on Guerilla to Blanket with the crew and my people. Trailing London here was the extra icing on that.
