Learning to look for answers to the above questions as you walk through a coach can help you decide if that particular model suits your needs.

Unfortunately, if you walk through ten or twenty coaches a day, you'll soon forget which ones you liked.

For that reason, I suggest taking a camera with you and shooting photos of features you like so you can recall them later on.

And don't limit yourself to walking through just a particular class of motorhome. Doing so can be a mistake.

For example, when I started looking I was dead set on a Class A. Wouldn't even consider anything else, so I didn't bother walking through Class C's.

Had I expanded my walk throughs to Class C's, I probably would have purchased one instead of a Class A – because at the time, a Class C had the features I wanted, and the prices were much better.

So do a lot of walk throughs. And keep mental notes as well as photos of what you like and don't like.

If you find something you really like, ask the sales person to write the make, model and price on the back of his card.

Keep the card for reference and use it to check prices online to see what the unit should sell for.

Do this enough, and you'll narrow your search down to just the right coach for you.
