She returned to stand in front of him, shaking her head. ―Don‘t strain yourself, honey bear. We‘ll get those chains off you in a few minutes.‖ Then she patted him on the cheek, as if placating him.

Since asking nice didn‘t work, he snarled. ―Stupid bunny. You‘re going to get yourself killed. You need to leave. It‘s not safe.‖

―Yeah so you keep saying, but what kind of neighbor would I be if I left? Sorry, my grumpy bear, but I am not leaving until I save your ornery carcass,‖ she chirped. She ignored his frustrated growls to eye his manacles with interest. She ran a finger along the chain to the wall.

―This isn‘t some Peter Cottontail adventure or story,‖ he hissed.

―The guys who grabbed me are real bad asses. I care about you, dammit, and I don‘t want to see you hurt.‖

Miranda stopped her inspection of his restraints and turned with an incredulous look on her face. ―Wait a second, I thought you didn‘t like me.

Well, me as a person, ‗cause we both know you want my body.‖

―I don‘t. I shouldn‘t.‖ At her crestfallen face, he sighed. ―Okay, insane as it is, I do like you, and not just your body, but your irritating mind as well. Just don‘t tell anyone. They‘d probably institutionalize me. Now, please, do me a favor. Go get some help before they come back.‖

A sly smile crossed her face. ―I like you too, my big ol‘ bear, and guess what? I am the cavalry.‖ She flexed her arms and struck a pose.

―You‘re looking at a FUC agent in the flesh. And I am going to rescue that hot ass of yours.‖
