How to Build and Test the Board

Please refer to Chapter 1 for soldering tips and techniques and for generic stripboard building guidelines.

Build the stripboard carefully following the circuit diagram shown in Figure 12-3. SW2 and SW3 are mounted off the board and are connected via three flying leads, and SW + is a common connection that is connected to one leg of both switches. Connect the other leg of each switch to the SW2 and SW3 points accordingly, which are shown on the circuit diagram. You should end up with a board that looks like the one shown in Figure 12-4. Do not fit IC1 into the DIL socket at this stage.
