âOh Terrie, you are such a bad girl.â Tally stepped into the house as Terrie stood back and welcomed her in.
Her brown eyes, usually cool and mocking, were filled with warmth and humor as Terrie shook her head wearily.
âI know he didnât tell you. By the way, he thinks youâre evil,â Terrie informed her as she closed the door and led the way into the living room. âSo how did you figure it out?â
âHmm,â Tally mused. âIt could have been the lingering smell of sex, and Giorgioâs Red was unmistakable. He should have showered before coming in,â she pouted. âI havenât had sex in months, Terrie. I donât like being reminded.â
Terrie flushed, though she couldnât help the laughter that welled from her lips.
âIâll be sure to let him know,â she promised her friend lightly.
Tally shrugged. âNo problem, dear, I already have.â She sat down in the high-backed chair across from the couch and lifted a dark brow curiously. âNow come, give Tally all the dirty details. Was he positively sinful?â
Terrie collapsed back on the couch.
âHe was sinful,â she sighed. âAnd very upset for some reason.â
She couldnât get his reaction out of her mind. It was unlike Jesse to appear less than confident. Yet, for some reason, that impression had nagged at her brain. As though something about the act had bothered him more than he let on.
âHmm. Yes, he was quite out of sorts when he came into the office,â Tally laughed in sheer delight. âYou should have seen him trying to pretend to read that contract he had in front of him. But his expression was just dazed. I loved it.â
Terrie shook her head at her friend, but couldnât hold her own laughter back. There was no one as dryly mocking as Tally could be. Her amusement and general outlook on life never failed to keep Terrie laughing.
âI donât know what to do now, Tally,â she finally sighed as she leaned back on the couch. âDo you think I didnât please him?â It was her biggest fear.
âDarling, you blew his ever loving mind,â Tally chuckled. âHis nerves are fried, his preconceived notions have flown out the window, and the man is scrambling to figure out what the hell happened. I would say you were the best heâs ever had.â
Terrie bit her lip. Yeah, he seemed pretty damned confused when he rushed from the bedroom.
âYou know what heâll do next,â Tally warned her. âIf he brings Lucian with him, at least videotape it so I can watch.â
Terrieâs eyes widened. âVideotape?â she gasped. âNo way.â
âOh, come on.â Tally waved her hand negligently. âAt least Iâm not asking to participate.â
Terrie stilled, then blinked. The object was to throw Jesse into overload. To show him she could meet him more than halfway. What if she⦠It would never work. Would it?
âWhat are you up to?â Tally asked her, laughter heavy in her voice. âOh, I just love it when you plot. Youâre almost as good as I am.â
She watched her friend closely.
