Bevel board for putting the bevel onto frames. The bevels are taken from the loft floor using a bevel gauge and marked on the board with a pencil line. When transferring the bevels to the frames it is essential to remember that a port side frame has the opposite bevel to the starboard one!

When laminating frames or floors inside a hull, using it as the mould, it is important to get the strips of wood carefully aligned or the finished appearance will be poor, though there will be little loss of strength. A batch of ply C-shapes can be cut out and used with small wedges as cramps across the frames, spaced about 12in (30cm) apart.
