Her life got busy, and at the next book club meeting, she explained the funny thing.

Luna smiled. “Did you bring the video?”

“Yeah. I warn you, I am in it.” Karo handed Luna the memory stick, and a smirking Estelle put it up on the huge television.

Karo carefully sipped her tea, her hands aching from the heat.

Zara murmured, “What is going on?”

Karo said, “A giant rabbit is up on the screen, and it is about to salsa dance.”

The music started, and Karo watched as Hector said something that made her laugh, and the smile remained on her face the entire time.

He did the same for each dance, including ballroom. He was a sneaky bastard. Together, they were striking.

The fact that he took his shirt off didn’t hurt.

When the five short dances were over, the room broke into applause, Karo blushed, and her cup clattered. Zara helped her set the cup down.

Luna grinned. “Don’t be embarrassed; that was amazing. Do you think you can do it in green orc body paint?”

“Probably. Why?”

Dell chuckled. “Because a couple of years ago I did some modelling as a character for a video game company, and now, they want more cut scenes with different characters for upgrades and stuff for the players to interact with. The orc wedding was always a problem.” She chuckled. “I think you two have solved it.”

Luna chuckled and got a laptop out. “Hey, they are online. Let me just send it off and see what they think.”

Dell chuckled. “Luna is our pimp, so to speak. She is also our agent and bodyguard.”

Karo snorted. “If you get a reply, send it to Hector, not me. I don’t mind paying for my keep.” She flexed her hands. “Now that I can actually do something.”

Dell chuckled. “You do fine.”

Karo was wearing the sweatsuit, and when Dell asked to watch the video again, she leaned forward and started frowning.

Karo had been wearing a panelled skirt and the shirt with slit sleeves, and the bruising had been obvious.

“What is wrong with your arms?”

Karo grimaced. “I have a skin disorder. I bruise super easily.”

Zara shrugged. “I didn’t notice.”

Karo wanted to hug Zara. She just brushed awkward things out of the way.

Dell froze. “When I hugged you, did it make a mark?”

“Um, probably. I am a colourful mess after getting back into action, but it is confined to my skin, so I am just an achy mess all the time. It definitely distracts from the hormones.”

Zara asked, “Hormones?”

“Um, yeah. The alpha I was with—not the one who tried to kill me—got me kind of addicted to physical attention. Having to go cold turkey is driving me a little crazy.”

Luna nodded. “I know how that goes.”

Minnie asked, “That’s a thing?”

Wren spoke from the phone that was on the table so she could participate. “If you had an alpha who was even halfway interested in you, it’s a thing. That much power and strength focused on you. It is addictive. That’s why alpha chasers continue to chase.”

Minnie blinked. “Oh.”

Luna put the video of the dancing on again.
