Restricted to the Sierra del Divisor (photographed and tape recordings), where fairly common but confined to low-stature forest with dense understory on low ridges (ca. 500 m). Difficult to observe. Forages in pairs, apart from mixed-species flocks. Two-toned female unmistakable. Male similar to male White-shouldered but lacks white spots on wing coverts, is a bluer shade of gray, and head is darker than body, creating a “hooded” appearance. VOICE Song an accelerating, descending series of rich notes with a distinctive, higher pitched, bisyllabic terminal bark: “kuk kuk-kuk-kuk-ku-ku-ku-ku’wah’AH.” Calls cawed “aw” and a longer, descending “awwr.” Br
