GOD’S PROMISE OF BLESSINGS FOR THOSE WHO TRUST IN HIM

If we belong to the Lord, through faith in Jesus Christ, God promises that He will bless us. But in order to experience the fullness of the blessings that God has for us, there are two very important things that we must do:

1.Trust

“Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers, and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord.” Proverbs 16:20

“Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.” Psalm 34:8

“But blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.” Jeremiah 17:7

2.Obey

“Blessed are they who keep his statutes and seek him with all their heart.” Psalm 119:2

“For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, and to walk in his ways, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess.” Deuteronomy 30:16

“Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.” Psalm 1:1

Scripture teaches us that we play an important role in receiving the fullness of the blessings that God has for us. If our role can be boiled down to one word, it would be, “Choices.” Deuteronomy 30:19-20 says, “This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him.”

Even if we are in difficult circumstances or living in the midst of the consequences of our choices, we are still given opportunities every day to trust and obey the Lord. These are things that we can do every day, no matter where we are on the road of life. Seeking the Lord above all else, striving to be closer to Him, and studying His Word are the ways we can learn to Trust and Obey.
