Chapter 8

Edward wasn’t sure he’d heard her right. His bear was more than ready. The man was trying to decide if that was the best move. His mate was just eighteen. He wasn’t opposed to the idea of getting his hands on his mate. Well, his hands and other parts, but he didn’t want to rush her. They had all the time in the world. He meant that. If he had to wait until she graduated high school, he’d do it. Although, it would be a very long wait, no lying. But he’d do it for her.

“Connie, we don’t have to. We have each other now. We can wait. However long you need,” he made sure his voice was firm but gentle.

Connie blushed a bit. “I’m not a virgin, Edward.” She didn’t really want to have to say those words. But she didn’t want him to think that was a reason to wait.

Edward growled low and deep. He didn’t need the image in his head of someone else touching what was his. He was no virgin either, so he couldn’t exactly be angry at her for it. And he wasn’t, he just didn’t want to think about it.

“I don’t care about that, Connie. You’re mine now, and I’m yours. Whatever happened in the past is gone. Erased. We are the only ones for each other now. I’m just saying we just met so we don’t have to rush into anything.”

Connie was trying to read him to see if he really wasn’t upset about her not being a virgin. She’d just made an assumption that he wasn’t.

“I don’t want to wait, Edward. I want you now. I want your mark on me, and I want mine on you. Before I see anyone else, I want us bonded for eternity. Do you need more time?” She hadn’t thought of that. What if she wasn’t what he was expecting? What if he needed more time to come to terms with her being his forever? What if he had a girlfriend?

“Do you have a girlfriend?” she blurted out.

“What? No! I don’t have a girlfriend. Even if I did, it wouldn’t matter now. You are the only one I’m interested in. I’m trying to do the mature thing here and take it slow. Get to know each other and tell our parents about us.”

That was something Connie was a little worried about. She wanted her and her mate bonded before they had to discuss their futures with their families.

“You want me, I can tell. I want you just as much. I won’t want to spend the next days and weeks aching for you. We have no reason to wait,” she finished this with grabbing Edward’s neck in both of her hands and pulled his mouth down to her lips.

Edward wasn’t a strong enough man to resist. He delved into her mouth at the same time his hands reached for her breasts. He knew he was moving fast, but she was practically attacking him. Her hands slid down his chest and under his shirt.
