Homeowners will use every watt-hour you give them. Oversizing the system to account for future growth is probably a good idea.

I will never forget a service call about a guy who drained his lead-acid, 1,200 Ah (57.6 kWh) battery bank in record time. After asking the right questions, the tech finally found the culprit. The homeowner thought it would be a good idea to fire up a 20 kW glass kiln during a power outage. After asking a few more canvassing questions, the tech learned the glass kiln was not on the original load list. Shocker.

Although this is an extreme example, many smaller loads added to a smaller-sized battery bank will have the same effect. Please take my advice and upsize as much as possible. If the initial product size is a 10 kWh model, round up to the next available size and then add another 20%. You will thank yourself later.
