This Meer Kaal guy. What a piece a’ work.

I wasn’t inside the cell for a hot second before he was all over me. Not like he was attackin’ me or anythin’. I just mean he was hysterical is all.

“Who sent you?” he screamed in my face. His hands were bound together in front of him by a set of cuffs, and his ankles were bound, too. He was up in my face, an’ I didn’t like it.

So I drop-kicked him right in the chest.

He went down on the floor, an’ I’d be lyin’ if I said the sound of it didn’t make me happy.

“You’re going to kill me!” Kaal shouted.

I’d had enough, so I covered his mouth with my hands.

“I’m not gonna kill you,” I said in the quiet voice I save for morons who are really startin’ to get on my last nerve. “I’d like to, an’ if you keep yappin’ like this, I probably will later. If you so much as raise your voice above a whisper again? I’ll bite ya.”

That quieted him down a little. But then I had to add a little somethin’ I just couldn’t resist.

“I got space rabies.”

Meer Kaal’s eyes got really big at that one. Groot woulda been proud a me. I didn’t laugh or nothin’. Just kept the straightest face I could.

Then I pulled my hand away from Meer Kaal’s mouth. He didn’t scream again, just like I figured he wouldn’t.

“You wanna know who sent me?” I said.

Meer Kaal nodded.

“Thanos,” I said.

I’m not certain, but I think it’s possible the poor guy mighta wet his pants.
