Interpreting the Colors

By now you are likely to be seeing a wide variety of colors inside people’s auras. It is fascinating to look at the many colors visible in everyone’s aura, but this ability is not very useful unless you know what the colors mean. Every color in the aura has a meaning that can be interpreted.

The most obvious color is the ground color as this is the dominant color in the aura. Frequently, people have told me how unhappy they were with their ground color. Perhaps they imagined themselves as possessing a beautiful, spiritual violet aura, and were disappointed to learn it was an earthy, red ground color. These people are being concerned unnecessarily. They are using the traditional meanings of the colors and ignoring all the other aspects that are involved.

The traditional meanings are:

RED: Sensuality, vitality, aggression

ORANGE: Emotion, health

YELLOW: Creativity, intellect

GREEN: Healing, love of nature

BLUE: Teacher, traveler, seeker of wisdom

INDIGO: Caring, nurturing, humanitarian

VIOLET: Spirituality, intuition, teacher, clairvoyant

PINK: Materialism, goal-setting, hard work

BRONZE: Humanitarian, self-sacrificing

WHITE: Spirituality, purity, selflessness

SILVER: Intuitive, idealistic, dreamer, visionary

GOLD: Unlimited potential

I have met people with every one of these colors as their ground color. Many times they are living up to the traditional interpretations of their color. However, it is just as likely that they are doing almost the complete opposite.

For example, you will find business people with every single possible ground color. The same applies for teachers, doctors, lawyers, plumbers, clerks, and every other occupation you could possibly name. Also, among the unemployed there will be a representation of every color. Even in prisons you will find every possible ground color.

Why is this? You would expect everyone with a gold ground color to be doing something really worthwhile with his or her life. You would expect someone with a violet or white ground color to be spiritually evolved.

The fact is that people are such complex, complicated beings that it is impossible to classify them in such a simplistic way.

If you ask people with an orange ground color if they have strong emotions you will receive a mixture of replies. For some the answer will be strongly affirmative, but others will deny that emotions play any part in their life at all. No matter what the reply is, you will know that at some stage in the person’s life the potential will be there to make positive use of his or her emotions.

It used to worry me to think about the number of people with silver and gold ground colors who were doing absolutely nothing with their lives. Surely, I thought, they should be so much more successful than the rest of us. However, the saying that you cannot really know anyone until you have walked a mile in his or her moccasins applies. Frequently, these people are given incredible opportunities but fail to seize them for any number of reasons.

Fear is the most common one. Fear of failing. Fear of succeeding. For many of these people it is easier to let the opportunities pass by and lead a life of mediocrity. They will be painfully aware that they are not doing what they could—or should—be doing, but fear holds them back.
