3.6.1 Dependency of the Model Parameters on the Encoding Resolution

In this section, a modeling approach is presented to integrate the impact of the encoding resolution on the perceived visual quality in the G.1070 model, based on the qualitative analysis of the raw results presented in Sect. 3.5. Using the original equations of the G.1070 model, the data fitting procedure resulted in one set of parameters per resolution (i.e. four different sets). The chosen approach consists of modeling the evolution of the parameters depending on the actual resolution in order to get one dataset valid for all resolutions. Figure 3.14 represents the dependency of the model’s parameters on the normalized resolution variable, which is expressed as follows:
