For example, you might say, “Jeff would be the one I would assume, at this point, to have my back. I have made the commitment to my future success to candidly ask Jeff for his feedback regarding my attitude as he sees it. This will allow me to filter out all of the current assumptions I make regarding the way I see my own attitude.”
Next, identify a friend that you feel could really use some feedback. This friend most likely believes you have their back. Come up with a specific time you are going to confront the issue, and why you are willing to share that particular information. Please remember, this exercise is fantastic to build up the courage characteristic warrior on the side of Positive Attitude. This will make uncomfortable conversations you have in your future come far easier because the negative attitude will become weaker in those similar situations moving forward.
For example, you might say, “Rick would be the one I feel could use some honest feedback. Every time we get together with a large group of friends, he’ll always take the time to pull me aside and share with me the desire he has to get into a relationship. I am going to mention to him some simple observations and recommendations I have seen work in the past for myself and others with similar desires.”
