“Fifteen more minutes,” I said firmly to Vikar. “We need to stop resetting the clock.” Frankly, I was surprised I could think, let alone talk. He’d said he’d make me come three more times, and he had.

I was going to be worn out before we landed.

Landed! Wait. “How much time do we have left?”

“Six minutes,” he said, his voice blurry with satisfaction. I wasn’t the only one who’d had multiple orgasms in the last six minutes.

I truly didn’t know what I thought about all this. “Are you sure you have to knot each time we do it?”

“I do.” He said it proudly, and I guess for a guy, being locked sexually to a female sounded like a hell of a good time.

The pod shuddered as it entered the planet’s outer atmosphere. The ground rushed toward us, or we rushed toward it, actually.

“As I said, I will carry you for as long as you have need.”

I didn’t want to think about the logistics of that. “I can get my tunic on, I suppose. Undies are out, and you’ll have to go without pants.” Think, Avery. I needed to be practical, not savor how nice it felt to snuggle with him. What did women do if they liked to get up right away? I guessed that option was out.

“I can pull my pants up over my hips,” he said. “Our pants have straps for this sort of circumstance.”

“Of course they do.” Leave it to guys to think of something like that. However, I wasn’t irritated with him. I’d welcomed his touch. Hell, if we weren’t about to crash—okay, land—on a moon, I’d be all over him again.

He’d awakened a voracious appetite inside me, and I had no idea what that meant.

The pod barreled toward the surface, and I hoped it knew how to apply the brakes.

Still locked together, he somehow maneuvered himself into his pants and boots. Then he shrugged himself into his shirt.

I was still trying to feed my arms into my tunic.

Bra or no bra? I opted to ditch it. It wasn’t like anyone would care if I jiggled.

The pod leveled, coasting above the surface, hopefully taking us to a safe location.

I peered at our temporary home. “It doesn’t look very hospitable down there.” Steely gray sand? Meet steely gray sand. Other than a few boulders—also steely gray—the landscape was made up of scrub and a few stubby trees. Wind picked up sand and dragged it across the surface. “Are we sure this is the right moon?”

“The pod guided us, not me.”

“I thought you programmed it.”

“I did.” A frown took over his face as he watched the ground coming closer.

“I don’t see Rose and Krek’s pod,” I said. Although, he had the bird’s-eye view, not me. From where I lay beneath him, I had to lift my head to see above the half-walls.

Vikar braced himself higher and studied the ground. “I’m sure our friends have either landed or will do so soon after us.”

Unease churned inside me, and I had a feeling I’d soon have more to worry about than Rose.
