2 tablespoons whole almonds

¼ cup granulated sugar, divided
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
3 to 4 plums, halved, pitted, and sliced into half-moons
1 large egg, beaten, for brushing
