Tabitha couldn’t believe it. Shock had made her speechless. Brandon stood by her side, looking down at her, the shock also evident on his face. The local healer was sat at Tabitha’s feet, looking at her expectantly, waiting for her to say something. Tabitha didn’t know what to say.

“I can see that the two of you are shocked by this news. You’ve been married quite a few years now, but God works in mysterious ways,” Lily chuckled. “I will leave you, please be sure to come to me if you need anything.”

Tabitha watched her leave. Once she had left, Tabitha studied Brandon as he sat down beside her. What would happen now? What could they do?

Brandon took her hands and forced her to look into his green eyes. He’d allowed his hair to grow a little longer; it was pulled away from his face so she could see his eyes clearly. “Tab, we can do this. This is good news.”

“It is good... but we do not know what will happen.”

“Do you mean with the Coven?”

“Yes.”

“I swear to you, if they come, I will deal with them. They will not hurt you!” Brandon growled.

“I worry about you, about this...”

“What do you want to do? I will be happy with your decision.” Brandon continued to hold her hand.

Tabitha had never thought of this possibility but now that it was here, what did she think? She feared the Corenthio Coven and what they could do to her. She feared that her heart couldn’t take more heartbreak. She feared what the thing growing inside her would be. A Witch? A Commoner? Both? She’d never heard of this happening before.

Brandon looked at her expectantly. One thing she did know, one thing she didn’t fear, was the unconditional love of this man. “Okay, we will do it.”

“Really?”

“Yes,” Tabitha smiled.

Brandon jumped up and swept her up into his arms. “I can’t believe it!”

Tabitha laughed as his lips moved to hers.

“You have made me the happiest man alive. I promise you I will love you, and our child, until my dying day.”
