The SCs BCAP2000 are used during simulation having parameters 2000 F, 2.7 V, Rs = 0.35 mΩ, 110 A. The SC unit consists of two parallel circuits; each of them has 160 capacitors connected in series. In the considered model, the fuel feed stops at t = 40 s and renews at t = 60 s. The process is shown in Figure 4.5. One can see that the system copes with failure, whereas without SC circuits the normal operation is not possible. The duration of the complete disappearance of FC voltage is 4 s. At this time, the load voltage and its current (about 250 A) are determined by the SC voltage solely that decreases by ΔU ≈ 250 × 4/(2000/160 × 2) = 40 V. After FC feed renewal, its voltage recovers and SC voltage rises.
