Four signals appear in Eqs. (3) and (4): two control signals f x , f y and two decoupling signals e x , e y . These four signals will be used in the diagnostic algorithms, presented in next part of the chapter. The decoupling block, and the decoupling idea is shown in Fig. 2.

This idea for the first control path can be summarized in the following way—if signal e x is added to the voltage u sx in the mathematical model of the motor, its subtraction in the control structure should make the control paths (f x ref − e x , r s , 1/r s , f x + e x ) independent. After this modification, the reference value of the f x signal (taken as the output of the regulator) is equal to its real value and is not influenced by the e x signal. Second control path is decoupled respectively. More details are presented in [22].

The decoupled control of the i sy component is important since it is used to control motor torque, according to the expression:
