Sweat dripped from every point on her body, the sheets were matted with the combined moisture of their bodies as Heath worked over her, in her and she strained to match his every move. Their day had been busily filled with activity but nothing like the workout she was getting tonight. Heath had awakened her early so they could go into town and see about her car. Parts would be ordered and repairs could take several days once they arrived.
They transferred her belongings to Heath truck and drove to her new home. Ophelia’s parents had made some upgrades to her aunt’s house. Newly painted and furnished her mother had managed to keep just enough of her aunt’s belongings so the place didn’t feel foreign to her. They even stocked the pantry with everyday essentials.
Heath roamed through her new home inspecting the upgrades and looking for anything that might be in need of repair while Ophelia called her family and thanked them for their thoughtfulness. She found him in the back storage room checking out one of two generators her uncle had installed in the home.
“This is quality equipment…you’re ready for a blizzard or a bad thunderstorm. This house has been well maintained.”
“Good to know, although I wouldn’t know what to do if there was a blizzard,” she said as she walked into his embrace. It amazed her at how affectionate they were with each other. She dated Darnell for over four years and never once did she feel as secure in showing her emotions with him. She literally couldn’t stop herself from touching or kissing a man she had barely known for seventy two hours.
“Not to worry… you have me to teach you whatever you need to know and I have a few ideas on how to pass the time when the power’s out.” She laughed as he lifted her in an exaggerated bear hug.
“Let’s get the rest of your things inside. Do you want to stay the night here?” He turned to see her response. “We can if you like. I’ve got nothing pressing and I can certainly stay and help you get situated.” Ophelia smiled at him. Just like that Heath had endeared himself to her. Heath was so thoughtful kind, and sexy. For now he was hers, at least that’s what she was going to choose to believe.
“Another time…let’s go back to your place tonight.”
They stayed long enough for her to unpack some luggage and get reacquainted with her new home. Unlike Heath, she did have a newly mounted HD television in her living room. Ophelia didn’t turn it on instead they talked as they worked arranging the few items she had brought with her from Chicago. She sold most of the furniture and only took what she could pack in her car. They got back to his cabin later that afternoon and after grilling burgers they sat outside around the fire pit enjoying each other’s company until the fire died out and the comfort of the cabin beckoned them.
