2.3.1.2 Electrode Designs

Electrode array is fabricated using only 25 µm-LCP films. The width and length of electrode stimulation site are 300 µm same. Only gold and LCP are used in electrode array. The thickness of electroplating (metal) is 5 µm (Center) or 10 µm (Auxiliary). Reference electrode which is needed in monopolar stimulation is 18 mm distant from the stimulation sites. Total 6 electrode site designs are simulated. After analyzing relative amplitude of e-field, one electrode design showing the most effective focused stimulation is chosen to fabricate. This design of electrode site structure is evaluated through in vitro measurement. Table 2.3 and Fig. 2.12 show the features of each electrode site designs.Table 2.3Features of electrode site designs for locally tripolar stimulation
