THE WHOPPER: IT DOESN’T ACTUALLY ADDRESS THE ROOT PROBLEM.

Simply redefining the standard of beauty to be broader and to include more body types doesn’t fix the root problem. In fact, all it does is shift our focus from one standard of beauty to another. What is the root problem, then? It’s that we believe our worth and identity are intrinsically connected to our outward appearance. And specifically tied to that, we have come to fear people more than we fear and believe God. (More on this below.) Any solution that doesn’t address these issues will be, at best, a Band-Aid over a gaping wound.
