"I think we're bad at watching TV," Gary said after some more channel surfing led them nowhere.

"You take a turn then," Wayne told him. He leaned over and handed him the remote. As Gary took it, his hand only barely brushed Wayne's. It wasn't enough. There was so much more to Gary that had to be touched. Without letting himself think, Wayne went over to him, sat on the edge of the couch facing him and asked, "Is this OK?"

"Yes," Gary said in a raspy whisper.

"Then you won't be needing the remote," Wayne said to him. Taking it from Gary's hand, he set it aside, freeing Gary's hand to rake through his hair and bring Wayne's face closer to him.

"I should be asking you if this is OK," Gary said. His chest was rising and falling and Wayne placed his hand on it. He wanted to feel him breathe, feel his heart beat.

"It is," Wayne told him so there would be no doubt. He cupped Gary's face, leaned in and nuzzled his neck. Breathing him in, wanting him, he told himself to slow down and not get carried away. He drew back a little and looked into Gary's blue eyes. With their eyes locked, the pull between them became irresistible.

At first their lips only brushed, fluttering, teasing then their mouths melded, tongues exploring deeply. Wayne's arms encircled him, brought Gary hard against him. His heart, caged in his chest, beat wildly wanting only Gary, wanting to join with him.

Gary moaned. Sliding lower and thrusting up, he fisted his hands in Wayne's hair. Wayne kissed him harder. With his arm hooked around Wayne's neck, Gary pulled him down on top of him. But now Wayne got worried about his foot.

"Are you being careful?" Wayne asked him, breathing hard like he had been running.

"No," Gary said his eyes hooded, unfocused as if he had fallen into a trance. "I'm being completely reckless."

Reckless? What did that mean, Wayne wondered looking down at him. Was Gary only acting on impulse when Wayne needed him to want him and only him?

Wayne wanted to ask him, but the words wouldn't leave his throat. He wanted too much. Gary might not want him that way. He might be looking for something easy and purely physical. That wasn't what Wayne was after, and it would hurt him to know that Gary only wanted to get off with him and nothing more.

"Wayne?" Gary said and stroked his back.

In his moment of turmoil, Wayne wanted to stay there and let Gary soothe him, seduce him, make him forget all his questions. But now that doubts were crowding his mind, Wayne started to pull away. He couldn't go any further before he knew where they stood.

"I better go to bed," he said.

As Wayne started to move away, Gary sat up and gripped the front of his shirt like he would stop him. An uncertain look washed over his face as he looked into Wayne's eyes. His fingers around a handful of fabric loosened and Gary slowly let go.
