Our problem was not, in fact, solved. Xander refused to stay behind, but he agreed to stay inside a vehicle where he couldn’t be seen. We were all adults, so trying to stop him was futile.

We'd decided to take two cars since it would be less suspicious with the five of us. We'd also be able to cover more ground. I wasn't fond of the idea of splitting up, but we should be safe if we didn't make any rash decisions.

Ivy came out of her closet and spun around. “Does this outfit say we’re moving?”

She was in ripped jeans and a faded volleyball shirt. I wanted to rip it all off and throw her on the bed, but we needed to leave soon.

“It’s passable.” I put down one of her books I’d been flipping through and stood. "I wish you'd change your mind about coming. If you did, I bet Xander would decide to stay behind too."

She sat on the end of the bed and put on a shoe. "When we separate, bad things happen. There's strength in numbers."

"Yeah, but instead of something bad happening to three of us, it will happen to all of us." I went to her dresser and looked at the pictures lining the top. "Any word from Riley?"

"She's texted me a few times to check in." She sighed as she tied her shoes. "I hope when the baby is born they don't have to stay away. I want to love all up on him and then promptly give him back."

I scratched my beard and turned to look at her. It wasn't the first time she had hinted that babies weren't her thing, but I didn't want to ask if she was trying to tell us she didn't want kids at all. "Him?"

"With all that big dick energy, it's going to be a boy." She bent at the waist and did some kind of magic trick to get her hair in a bun.

"What would you know about them having big dick energy? Do you and Riley talk about dicks or have you seen theirs?" I put my hands on my hips in mock anger.

She rolled her eyes. "You don't talk about me with the guys?"

"Ah, well... that's different. We're your boyfriends. They're not." I grabbed her hips and pulled her to me. "If you need to be reminded of the only big dick energy you should be thinking about..."

"How do you feel about penis piercings?" She was going for shock value now, and I was sure my shock showed because she threw her head back and laughed.

"One of them has a pierced dick?" I covered my crotch. "How does that not hurt?"

"What have I walked into?" Silas was standing in the doorway, looking a little pale.

"Ivy was sharing how she talks about our dicks with her best friend." I kissed her nose and headed for the door. "We should get going. It's a two-and-a-half-hour drive."

As I walked down the stairs I heard Silas ask, "Have you told her my dick is the biggest?"

He wished.
