1. Leaders Need to Possess the Right Perspective

Even though David was a powerful leader and was anointed to become king, it was Abigail who brought the right perspective to him. She saw the bigger picture. She thought through the consequences of David’s intended actions. She had a sense of what God desired from both of them in that situation. And she looked to the future, not only for herself but for others.

If you are a leader, you must always seek God’s wisdom, take the long view, and attempt to see the big picture. In addition, you cannot allow your emotions to overwhelm your judgment. You must maintain your perspective. The people you lead are depending on you.
