On the way out, Isobel added Aurora and Finn to our quest for entertainment.

The underlord eyed the Torshin with an arched brow. “Bringing a Torshin to a Dragon party is certainly ballsy, Icefire,” he stated.

Isobel waved a hand in the air. “Finn can look after himself.”

When Brock snorted, the Torshin simply grinned, revealing blackened, sharp teeth. “Care to test me, Dragon?”

The underlord shrugged. “Another death will just add spice.”

Isobel’s power wrapped around us as we stepped through the gate, blocking Brock from sensing the location of our hideout. I was relieved that she didn’t fully trust him. At least, not yet.

Surrounded by our Bellati escorts, we emerged near the old castle, where Brock’s two scarred bodyguards awaited us. They both glared at Finn, who ignored them.

My keen sense of disappointment at the absence of the big red Dragon surprised me. Apparently, I wasn’t the only one to feel that way.

“No Deranger?” Isobel’s brows dropped.

“Have him in isolation for tonight’s party,” Brock answered. “Sharpens his focus.”

I sensed Isobel’s curiosity, and my gut clenched.

Aurora claimed both my arm and Finn’s as we passed through another gate and emerged in an alley. Brock and the other two transformed, and the bronze Dragon offered Isobel his foreleg.

She climbed aboard. Aurora and I were relegated to one bodyguard, and the other reluctantly carried Finn, but only after Brock ordered him to.

I was uncomfortable, overly conscious of the warm scales between my legs and the lithe woman pressed to my back. My Satyr stirred within me, sensing opportunity. The human in me, however, didn’t want the contact.

Doing my best to ignore the conflict, I braced for my first Dragon flight. As he launched into the air, my hands wrapped in a death grip around his neck spikes. I couldn’t look down, overly conscious of the ground all too far below. Aurora laughed as she ran her hands around my midriff and slid them inside the waistband of my breeches. My Satyr clawed at me even as my stomach clenched.

“Have you ever seen Dragons mate?” she purred into my ear. She didn’t wait for my answer, but continued. “The energy alone will get you hotter than hell.”

My inner Satyr didn’t need any further encouragement. Her life essence wrapped around me, offering itself to my hunger. I could no longer sense any trace of the healthy energy within it, but my Satyr’s interest tweaked anyway. I pulled it back, and its frustration only fed into my general state of chaos.

Aurora’s clever fingers worked on my body, adding another dimension—the physical was at war with my spirit, while my Satyr encouraged every twitch.

Our destination loomed ahead of us—the building towered into the sky with multiple landing platforms. By the time the Dragon banked to land, she’d fondled me into a state that I could only hope my tunic would hide.

The old Dragon tilted his head to aim one gleaming eye at me. My face flushed. He was sure to read my energy and know just what Aurora had been up to.
