Jata's Estate: Bash

"What do you mean you know where Freya is?" Bash snarled as he charged the screen where ERIC's blue face stared back at him. The rest of the team remained silent.

"When I was scrolling through their data streams, I found a reference to Freya. Based on that, I think I know where they're keeping her. It's the same info Jata should have access to."

Jata stepped forward, his skin flashing bright red then settling into a muddied red. His arms crossed over his chest. "No, you're just intent on pitting us against each other. There is no way the war factions would leave a trace of her to be found unless they wanted her found. If you located any evidence pointing to her location, it's a trap. Hence why we didn't share the information."

Bash stalked around the room. Who should he trust? ERIC had never lied to him, but he wasn't as familiar with the alien's behaviors. While Jata had lied, or withheld info, Bash didn't think any of it was with the intention to deceive them, except for where women were concerned. Was this a huge deception to force Freya to comply with breeder plans?

For a second, he was tempted to kill them all. If every single alien died, then their people would have to learn how to survive in the new world, but at least they wouldn't suffer what he had. Living with his entire worth based on whether he could produce children had been horrible. He'd hated himself every day. Each time one of the camp's women came to him, forcing themselves on him, it was too much. They couldn't understand why he'd struggled with the situation so much. Why he'd had to be drugged to get an erection. Bash shook his head. Nope, no one deserved that.

"I don't care, we have to try every option to find her. It could be a trap, but it might be a careless mistake, either way, I'll make that determination." Bash charged out of the room, then changed his demeanor before entering Tris'Tyn's. Once inside, he dropped his voice to the softest tone he could manage. "Ell'e, it's time."

Ell'e laid on the side of Tris'Tyn's bed, one hand resting on his chest. While his vitals were much better, he hadn't woken up yet. She'd taken to laying with him any spare moment she got. At Bash's words, she nuzzled her forehead on his shoulder, then slipped off the bed. "I wish he'd wake up. I know he needs time, and I'll wait, but it's hard."

"If he doesn't wake up by the time we bring Freya back, I'll reexamine the formula." Ell'e nodded at his words, then left the room. What he hadn't mentioned to anyone… Tris'Tyn might have brain damage from how low his blood levels became on the trip. The dependency was created to kill him if he refused to cooperate with the Patriot's outrageous breeding plans. Tris'Tyn might never wake up, no matter how many times he changed the formula.
