Outside, the air has taken on a chill, enough Iâve changed into pants, a sweater, and a scarf. The wind brushes over me as I walk next to Ryker, Kendrick, and Olivia to the waiting rover craft. A wet, cold raindrop lands on my nose, and I shiver. Looking up at the sky, I see it reflects my moodâthunderous and gloomy.
âThereâs a hazardous storm rolling in tonight, Sir,â Everett says to Ryker. âHigh winds, lightning, possible flooding. Itâs best we return to the palace immediately after the show.â
âMake the plans,â he replies simply.
Climbing a few steps into the open rover craft, I notice how much larger this one is from the one I arrived in. It has four rows of side-by-side seats behind the pilot seats with square tables in front of them. Thereâs a drink station, digital monitors suspended from the ceiling, and enough room to walk to the back where thereâs a bathroom. Itâs a lavish rover craft, similar to the one my father has and clearly, fit for a King. Ryker gestures to a seat. I take the one in the back left, and he follows, taking the one to the right of it.
With everyone buckled in, the rover craft lifts into the air, guided by the pilots. I only have a few minutes of admiring the view from above before weâre descending. The rover craft lands on the rooftop of the theater, and Ryker escorts me to a wide, silver door that slides open upon him entering a code on the panel next to it. Down a polished cream staircase, we enter into an entrance hall with a bathroom on the right, a redwood podium with a digital screen on the left, along with two men in business uniforms waiting with drink trays. In front of us, are two doors with full glass windows that reveal a sitting area where several people could have a meal. Beyond the eating area, there is another door that is obviously the private access into the theater.
Ryker greets the men with kind words, takes a glass from one of their outstretched hands, then enters information into the digital screen before bringing his soul band to it to make payment. I take a glass handed to me and find its cool, fruit-infused water. When finished paying, Ryker addresses the men.
âPlease have four meals prepared and brought to the private theater room for us.â
âOur pleasure, Your Highness. Thank you for joining us today.â
The first man walks off as the second hands the last glass to Everett. One of the arms men in our entourage follows the theater staff, Iâm sure to watch over the cooking. Rykerâs hand rests on my lower back as he guides me through the automated sliding glass doors into the next room. We pass through the attractively decorated area with a ruby red carpet, black tables and chairs, and black walls with gold feather designs. Through another sliding door, we enter into a dimly lit room, decorated the same with tiny wall sconces on each side.
