“Where’re you going?”

Harper stopped her slow shimmy out of bed at the low, coarse sound of Konstantine’s voice in her ear.

“Uh...the bathroom,” she squeaked.

He snorted. “Liar.”

Her shoulders tensed. “I was going to the bathroom.” She decided to leave out the fact that she was going to the bathroom in her room. Then she was planning on locking the door and maybe, sorta, kinda shoving one of her dressers in front of it.

What exactly did he expect her to do? She hadn’t had time to have a mild coronary over the fact that she’d been intimately introduced to every inch of Konstantine over the course of a few hours. And although Harper could say pleasurable was a grave understatement for what had happened between the two of them, she had the slight suspicion that he’d kept her lips, hands, and every sensitized part of her occupied on purpose.

The giant hairy bastard knew her too well. Every time Harper had gone to say anything he may or may not have wanted to hear, he had his tongue in her mouth or on her nipples. When she looked as though she was attempting to get up, he had her on all fours or underneath him. If she even sighed wrong, she found herself straddling him.

After their hard, quick, amazing interlude in the kitchen—which Harper would have to disinfect top to bottom later because her OCD was sending all types of warning signals about how sex in her sanctuary was unsanitary—Konstantine had kept her trapped in the guest room she’d put him in. It didn’t seem like that was going to change anytime soon.

Her thoughts were confirmed when he resituated her in front of him, one huge thigh wedged between her own, his arm thrown around her waist, pulling her back into his chest. Harper waited for him to say something or do something but it never came. However, what did come was a soft snore in her goddamned ear.

“Oh, you’re fucking kidding me, right?” She jerked her elbow back. “Hey!”

“What?” Konstantine groaned.

“You’re going to sleep?” Harper twisted up and out of their spooned position, staring down at him, her eyes adjusting to the darkness of the room. “I’m having a mental breakdown, and you’re going to sleep.”

There was a long sigh. “That seems about right.”

“I...you...” She swung her legs off the bed, trying to get up and away before she took one of her beautiful throw pillows and held it over his face until the jerking and flailing stopped. No sooner than her feet touched the coolness of her carpet did she find herself on her back, the nightstand lamp illuminating the room so she could clearly see the expression on his face as he loomed over her.

“You wanna talk,” Konstantine rasped quietly. “Talk.”

She glared up at him.

“What’s that look for?”

“Because you’re being so frackin’ casual!”

He blinked. “About what, exactly?”

“About the fact that we...” Harper waved a hand between the two of them.

“Made love?” he supplied. Her eyes narrowed, and he grinned broadly. “Okay...we had sex.
