Resistance:

What is it?

Usually fear, sometimes anger.

What are you resisting?

Who do you resist?

What aspects of yourself do you resist?

“What we resist persists.”

—Carl Jung

How have you given up on yourself?

What have you given up on?

Why?

Who have you given up on?

Why?

What creative projects have you given up on?

When you accept yourself as you are there is nothing to prove and your actions are no longer about ego. This is true liberation.

What do you feel you have a right to?

What don’t you have a right to?

What do you avoid?

What are you avoiding right now?

Why?

What feelings do you fear?

What feelings do you judge?

What feelings do you repress?

Do you self-medicate?

What feelings do you express?

How can you vanquish emotions that are part of the human experience? What a relief when you stop trying. Do you know how much energy it takes not to feel? Yet you are not at the mercy of your feelings or thoughts once you develop self-mastery.

Projection in action*:

I will make you act out my feelings

As a way of disowning them

I press your buttons

Until you express my rage

Then I can tell you you’re crazy

Then I can play victim

Hint: If someone is doing this to you, don’t take the bait.

Turn the tables and ask them to express their feelings.

What do you deny yourself?

How are you denying yourself what you were once denied?

What do you deprive yourself of?

Why?

How is your deprived inner child still acting deprived?

What do you deny others as a form of revenge?

What can you give your inner child once and for all?
