I, myself, Imperator Servus Dei, am the chief of a band of forty-nine spirits, the presiding and controlling spirit, under whose guidance and direction the others work […] I am come from the seventh sphere to work out the will of the Almighty; and, when my work is complete, I shall return to those spheres of bliss from which none returns again to earth. But this will not be till the medium’s work on earth is finished, and his mission on earth exchanged for a wider one in the spheres.2

What is fascinating about these communications is the suggestion of concerted effort by an organized group of entities to send messages from an alternative universe to this one. Imperator explains that he is the leader of the group, with other entities taking on specific areas of responsibility to facilitate communication.

Rector is his deputy and lieutenant, while the role of the Doctor is to guide the pen of the receiving medium. In other words, Imperator, or occasionally Rector, would dictate information to the Doctor who would then take over the medium’s hand. In this way messages are transferred from the “Seventh Sphere” to our own world. Also involved is a team of four beings called the “Guardians”. In total the team consists of seven entities. This team of seven is part of a much larger group responsible for guiding life on Earth.

In one communication, Imperator attempts to explain to his human associates how his team is able to use their advanced knowledge of science to communicate across the dimensions:
