And then, having made your petition known to God with thanksgiving and praise, choose to think about something other than your problem. It is no accident that Paul followed up his words about being anxious for nothing by saying,

Whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. (Phil. 4:8)

Turn your attention away from your problem and toward the things that are truly good. Turn your mind to the solutions and answers that God has given you in the past. Turn your mind to His blessings and His promises. Focus your mind on His goodness and His love for you.
