Mags

“Who the hell is sending these to me?” Mags stood in the band’s dressing room, holding a card without a signature. This was really starting to get out of hand. Opening the card, she felt the blood drain from her face as she read the inscription.

“Maggie, I hope to meet you really soon.

But it would be nice if you broke it off with your boyfriend.

I don’t like to share. “

“Mags, are you okay? What does the card say?” Cheyenne asked as the rest of the band stood around her. Reading it out loud, I saw Brianna excuse herself.

“I’m just going to get Ariel and Roark,” whispered Brianna.

“That’s just great. Wait until Cal gets word of this note. This is a threat. I mean, I think this is a threat.”

“Sure as shit is,” replied our drummer Rachel. “This is getting a bit out of hand if you ask me.”

“You think? This is insane. What if it’s someone that will be at the Meet and Greet? What do we do then?” asked Alexis.

“How about we take him out back and kick the shit out of him,” replied Avery.

“What happens if the him is a her?” countered Alexis.

“Then we do the same thing to her,” answered Avery.

“No one is kicking the shit out of anyone. I just have to think. I have to know the person doing this.” Tossing the card on the dressing table, I thought the flowers looked so ugly. Not knowing who they were from and a threatening letter took the beauty right out of them.

Hearing a lot of footsteps coming down the hallway, Ariel walked in the room, followed by Roark and then Cal with the rest of their band.

“Brianna just told us you received another flower delivery. Was there anything on the card that we should be worried about?” asked Ariel.

Oh shit, this is when more crap is going to hit the fan, especially when we were all spoken to about our relationships. Walking to the table to get the card, I slowly handed it to Ariel. Roark glanced over her shoulder. Then he looked at Cal and then me. Shaking his head, it wasn’t the time or the place. This was more serious now that there was a veiled threat in this note.

For the first time, Roark looked pissed off. “Anyone coming to the Meet and Greet has to be patted down and bags searched. If someone doesn’t cooperate, they don’t come into the room. I don’t give a shit if it’s legal or not. I don’t want to take any chances with either band or the two members that are being singled out.”

Looking at Ariel, Roark asked everyone but Cal and Mags to leave the room. As both bands filed out of the dressing room, Roark closed the door. Walking over to Cal, he handed the card to him to read.

“Is this for real? Are you okay, Mags?”

“I’m pissed, that’s what I am, Cal.”

“Listen, the both of you,” said Roark. “We are not going to give you a lecture as we did that already.
