Dress Your Body
Now that we have discussed how to dress each figure, let’s take a look at some tips for dressing all full-figured bodies. Basically, it’s pretty simple: When in doubt, go basic. Everyone looks great in classic clothing, particularly finely tailored dresses, skirts, slacks, and suits. Unfettered, clean lines, such as sheath dresses, A-line skirts, flat-front pants, and unadorned jackets, flatter a variety of shapes. Plus, as you fill your closet with a wardrobe of classic outfits and learn the fine art of mixing and matching (and accessorizing), you will only need a few new items each season to look updated and fabulous. But no matter what you wear the most important thing is confidence. Confidence will radiate out of you, and will help in your professional, personal, and even your love life.

A Smooth Silhouette
Build a wardrobe of classic clothing in black, brown, gray, beige, and camel, and you can jazz up classic suits with colorful blouses in lightweight fabrics that add pizzazz rather than bulk.
To create a classic silhouette:
• Wear one-piece dresses that skim over your figure.
• Wear all one color or colors in the same monochromatic tone.
• Choose lightweight jackets or cardigans that flow over your hips.
• Keep jackets or sweaters open rather than buttoned up.
• Add a long, non-bulky scarf to your jacket or sweater.
• Don’t wear belts in contrasting colors.
• Wear trouser-length pants.
• Wear longer skirts (proportionate to your height).
• Wear shoes with a one inch or higher heel.
Tips for maximizing your long silhouette:
• Look for garments that are well constructed and that have darts in strategic places to slenderize your bust, waist, and hips.
• Monochromatic tones slenderize, but they can be dull. To spice them up, use texture to add interest, such as a knit jacket over a silky camisole or a leather vest with jeans.
• If you are petite, avoid large patterns, horizontal stripes, and oversized accessories. Wearing one color will make you look taller, as will wearing long pants rather than crop pants or shorts.
• In winter, wear tights with boots that match your skirt color.
• If you are on the full, full-figured size, avoid wearing large patterns. Opt more often for darker colors, like classic black, navy, brown, or dark gray.
• Don’t wear your pants inside your boots unless you have long legs.
Flaunt Your Assets
You always want to take advantage of the best aspects of your figure. If you have sensational wrists and pretty hands, opt for three-quarter sleeves and wear bangle bracelets and watches to show them off. If you have toned, sculpted arms, bare those lovely assets by wearing sexy sleeveless dresses.
Other assets and how they can be flaunted:
• If you have trim thighs and sexy legs, by all means, wear short skirts, shorts, and high heels. Wear dark-colored leggings with a soft, feminine tunic on top.
