Abduction

…Caught me by surprise, I never saw it coming. Walls fell down. There goes my pride: bars…shattered. Now I realize- Sevyn Streeter

I hated having to get up extra early, but today Lance decided that he wanted to meet with his counselor before school. And since he was my ride to school, I had to go in early with him. I slowly dragged myself out of bed before going to take a quick shower. When I finished getting dressed, I grabbed my bag and went into the kitchen to grab something quick to eat.

“Sup Rita.” Lance said as he walked into the house. I wasn’t a morning person, so I just looked at him, and then went back to eating. “Rude ass.” I just waved him off. I really didn’t want to be up this early. Usually I would wake up at 7 to be at school by 9, but today I had to wake up at 6 to be at school by 8. “You ready?” He asked as he watched me purposely take my time eating.

“Don’t you see me eating?” I snapped. Without saying a word, he just grabbed the bagel out of my hand, wrapped it up, grabbed a water bottle out the fridge, and headed towards the door.

“Let’s go!” I smacked my lips as I grabbed the rest of my breakfast and followed him out the house.

“Why couldn’t you just go, and then come back to pick me up?”

“That would’ve made us both late. You act like you had better things to do.” He said as he backed out the driveway.

“I do have better things to do! It’s called sleep!!” He ignored me and continued to drive to school. I smacked my lips and grabbed my bagel so that I could finish eating. Just so that I could irritate him, I began to purposely make a mess. I let my crumbs fall onto my lap, and then dusted them onto the floor of the car. He looked over at me and saw what I was doing.

“Yo, stop that shit!” I knew that it would piss him off because he always kept his car clean.

“What are you talking about?”

“You makin a mess, bruh. And I know you doin that shit on purpose.”

“You should’ve let me finish my breakfast at home.”

“Stop actin like a damn baby. You up! Get over it!” I rolled my eyes and put my food back in my bag. I knew I was acting like a child; I just liked getting under Lance’s skin. I was one of very few people that could get under his skin. By the time we pulled up to school, I had finally decided to stop giving Lance a hard time, and just find something to do until school started.

“So what are you going to talk to your counselor about?” I asked him as we walked into the school.

“Don’t worry about it.” He snapped. As soon as we got into the school, he disappeared. I didn’t have anything that I really needed to do before school, so I decided to just sit in the library and read.
