Now that I’ve had a taste of her, I never want to go back to the way my life was before. Delilah is going to change my life, as long as I can get Noah on board with the whole thing. I just have to prove to him that my intentions with his sister go beyond this one night.

But first, to make sure Delilah herself knows that.

We go back into the hotel and I take her to the front desk. I know that my room has been taken over by party guests, so there’s no hope of going back there if I’m looking for alone time with Delilah.

As I approach the front desk attendant she squeals, and I watch her take several deep breaths and try to compose herself. She’s a young woman in her early twenties. Once she’s settled, she smiles at me, and then frowns as I see her eyes wander over to Delilah.

“Something wrong, miss?” I ask.

“Oh, nothing, Mr. King. I’m so sorry. It’s just—you know—I’m not used to—I mean, I’ve only been working here for a month. I’m not used to our celebrity guests yet. Especially someone whose music I absolutely adore.”

“Well, I’m glad you like it. Look—I have a penthouse suite right now, but I need an extra room. I should have planned for this, but my room has been taken over by a party. Do you have any rooms available?”

“Oh, we’re all booked for tonight, Mr. King. It’s Christmas and all.”

“It’s okay,” Delilah whispers.

The young woman furiously types something on her computer. “Oh, wait. I was wrong. We actually do have one room on the second floor.”

“That will be perfect,” I reply. I hand the young woman my credit card along with three one hundred-dollar bills. “The cash is your tip,” I reply.

She shrieks again. “Thank you, sir,” she says.

Some other desk attendants look over at us with shocked expressions on their faces. We’ve really got to get up to our room now before I get attacked for a round of selfies.

The young woman gives me our room keys, and I lead Delilah away from the desk.

“That’s the reaction you get everywhere you go, isn’t it? Young women shrieking,” says Delilah.

“Yeah, but it gets a lot worse than that,” I reply. “Sometimes it takes me three hours to get through a crowd of my fans. I spend a lot of time taking pictures with people and signing stuff. I get asked to sign all kinds of things, but I always refuse body parts. Just to let you know.”

“Oh, that’s too bad. I was hoping you’d sign my boobs later.” Delilah chuckles and I look over at her to see that bright beautiful smile. And I think to myself how lucky I’d be if I could truly have the heart of this girl forever.

As we make our way to our room, a band of wandering teenage girls comes screaming down the hall towards us. Yep, even though it’s late and most people in the hotel are sleeping, I’ve been spotted.
