My head pounded and I shot up from my bed. It must be morning. I couldn’t tell the time of day. There wasn’t a window in this room. It was a bit stuffy in here. Do these aliens take baths? There was enough dust in here for me to start a superbug of some sort. Rubbing my nose, I stretched my arms and got to my feet. I needed to check on Wyatt. I need to have a plan. The plan will come right after I empty my bladder, because I can't take two steps without needing to relieve myself. My room wasn’t as big as Wyatt’s but thankfully I didn’t have to be. I don't know what Galaxy we're in, I don't know where we're at. This was a new day, and I was filled with hope and happiness that these aliens might help me care for Wyatt. Standing up the toilet flushed. It was some kind of self-cleaning self-operating toilet. If you wanted to call it that. It was more of a bidet, but that was okay.

I just needed to see Wyatt. Opening my door, I peeked down the hallway. I was surprised nobody was there. Creeping down the hallway, I admired the fancy fixtures and the royal pictures hanging on the walls. It was daylight, and every light on was on. Several moons rises passed, and I had gone in circles. When I passed a guard, I swallowed my pride.

“Excuse me. You brought me and my nephew Wyatt here. Can you lead me to him?”

The guard stared ahead. I knew he heard me, because he glanced at me, and then turned away. I tapped my foot on the titles, waiting for him to acknowledge me again. He didn't.

I jabbed my finger into his chest.

“You brought me, and a little boy, who looks similar to me but he’s a male to the palace. Where is he?”

He didn't seem impressed with my tone, or me jabbing my finger in the center of his chest. However, after me repeating myself several times and tapping my foot.

He huffed and started walking. I didn't know if the huff was an actual word or how he spoke, but I decided to take it but he me knew that I meant business, and he was taking me to white. If that wasn't the case. I was content doing this song and dance with him all night long, planet rotation after planet rotation until I saw my nephew. I wasn't going to be deterred. I was all Wyatt had, and I refused to fail him.

My sister Thalia had always been the strong one. If she were here with my son, and the roles were reversed, she would do no less for me. I blinked rapidly, forcing the tears back. This was my chance to be strong like, Thalia, had been for me our entire lives.

After several more corridors, he shoved me toward the door. I almost ran into the door face first, but as soon as I was close, it opened automatically.
